  1. The itinerary outline a recommended 22 day by day travel route through California to Grand Canyon, though the southern part of Utah, down to Las Vegas, then back into California, including Yosemite, San Francisco, Highway 1 and Los Angeles.

The travel direction is counterclockwise: From Los Angeles, Joshua Tree and Route 66 to Grand Canyon, then into Utah with Bryce Canyon and Zion, then down to Las Vegas, and then through Death Valley and Yosemite up to San Francisco and then down the Pacific Coast on California Highway 1 back to L.A.
  3. The itinerary is intended for families with children age 8 and up with three weeks to experience some of the classic attractions in California, Grand Canyon, Las Vegas and The Southwest..

The itinerary includes day by day descriptions on well known and lesser known attractions, sights and experiences including tips on scenic drives og beautiful highways through California, Arizona, Utah and Nevada. The route description is based on the official interstate and highway numbers, including exit numbers. However, a road atlas might become handy, when being on the road.
